What is CBD?
CBD is one of more than 85 plant based compounds known as phyto-cannabinoids which are unique to the hemp (or cannabis) plant. These cannabinoids bolster the body’s own Endocannabinoid System.
The Endocannabinoid System (ECS)
The ECS is located in the brain and central (and peripheral) nervous systems and consists of neuro-modulatory lipids and their receptors. The ECS produces its own cannabinoids which help to regulates numerous systems throughout the brain and body, including: metabolism/appetite, pain, mood, immune function, sleep, stress response, energy, memory, the autonomic nervous system (heartbeat, breathing, etc). The primary function of the ECS is to promote balance, or homeostasis, in these systems. CBD helps keeps the body’s ECS receptors and endocannabinoids working at optimal capacity.
CBD is Non-Psychoactive
Our hemp is naturally rich in CBD and has been bred to have only trace amounts of THC (less than the legal limit of .3%). Some of our products are available with zero THC. None of our products are capable of inducing intoxicating effects or getting you “high”.
Even the Federal Government Admits CBD is Beneficial
In 2003, the US federal government obtained US Patent No. 6,630,507, that claims:
“Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties…useful in the treatment of [a] wide variety of… diseases, such as… inflammatory and autoimmune diseases… [and] to have… application as neuroprotectants… in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases…”
Legally Grown in America
The 2014 Federal Farm Act (Farm Bill) permitted the legal growth and sale of industrial hemp in the US under certain conditions. Our CBD is GMO-free and sourced from plants organically grown and produced in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado in full compliance with the Farm Bill. Many CBD sellers are not compliant with this Act or buy their hemp oil from foreign sources.
