Lisa's Story

As a former resident of California, where medical cannabis has been legal for over a decade, I have seen first hand how incredibly effective medical cannabis can be.  For years, my husband suffered from cluster headaches, one of the most painful disorders imaginable.  Many sufferers commit suicide rather than endure the numerous daily headaches. Opiates didn’t touch the pain, so he had to give himself multiple injections daily and then take blood pressure meds to make sure his head didn’t explode! He had to take sleep medication to sleep (which he could only do sitting up). He was a mess!  Finally, one day when he called his prestigious headache doctor in desperation, his doctor told him that many of his intractable patients had good luck with medical cannabis.  He tried it and it broke the headache cycle almost immediately.

Several years ago, we moved to South Carolina, where even hemp had been outlawed until recently. Given that the South was likely to be one of the last regions in the country to legalize medical cannabis, we sought a legal, plant based, substitute and discovered Cannabidiol (CBD), which was effective in preventing and treating his cluster headaches. We also found, however, that many of the CBD products on the market were ineffective, contained non-organic ingredients, were sourced from dubious or unknown sources and were marketed in false and misleading ways.

Then I met Emily (see her story below), mother of a daughter with autism, who had been treating her daughter’s agitation with CBD.  While commiserating on the difficulty of finding safe and effective CBD products, we finally said “Why don’t we start our own company and do it right?”  We decided that we would sell products that were as organic as possible and seek out hemp extractions utilizing the whole plant approach.  This is sometimes called “Full Spectrum,” which means that more of the original plant material (hemp) is preserved.  The result is a product that contains a variety of cannabinoids (of which CBD is one), terpenes, Omega fatty acids and other healthful phytonutrients. Confused about how to determine the strength of dosages on most (deliberately?) ambiguous CBD labels, we committed to clear labeling and honest marketing. In my prior life I was a lawyer and judge, so obviously we also needed to ensure our products were fully cleared for sale.

Finally, we are on a crusade to educate people about the benefits of CBD, especially in states with little understanding or experience with the benefits of medical cannabis. There are so many patients and families with devastating conditions or disorders that can be helped by CBD.  We look forward to posting testimonials from our customers telling us of their successes.

Emily's Story

I have a beautiful 17 year old daughter named Ridley and she has autism. Like many children with autism she suffers from terrible anxiety and as a result Ridley can have aggressive behaviors. Our family has continually researched every modality available to alleviate some of the stressful aspects of autism. Ridley has participated in multiple therapies and twice we resorted to pharmaceuticals. Both short experiments resulted in a depressed and lethargic child.

Continuing to look for a healthier option, I began using any and every hemp based product I could find, at great expense, with only limited success. So I decided to spend some time out West to take a first hand look at the hemp industry and the products currently available. I found labeling that was unclear, confusing lab reports and a lack of natural, organic products. It was obvious that in order to provide Ridley with a quality legal CBD supplement at home in South Carolina I would need to be proactive. Lisa and I discovered we had a similar mission in caring for our loved ones and Primo Plant Remedies was born. After exhaustive research, we have now sourced a limited collection of the most sophisticated and effective CBD products on the market.
