How Fast Acting is CBD?

We get this question a lot:  How quickly does CBD get into your system? I want to use it for anxiety.  Can I take before an anxiety producing event and get relief?  What would that time frame be?

Answer:  Everyone is slightly different.  CBD crosses the blood brain barrier extremely quickly. Our CBD Oil (taken sub-lingually) gets into your system the fastest.  However, it does take a little while to build up levels. Therefore, we recommend that you take it for 3-5 days until you find an effective dose that works for you. Typically, 10-40 mg broken up in one or two doses per day. Once you are taking CBD on a regular basis, then it can be beneficial to take a slightly higher or additional dose to help alleviate a situation that may cause higher than normal stress on that day. It is not meant to be a fast acting solution in the sense that someone who is not on CBD can take one softgel or dropperful and feel relief. In our experience, we have had clients who have reduced or eliminated other prescription anxiety medication after a month long daily regime of CBD.

What is the “Entourage Effect”?

Whole plant extractions typically include CBD, THC, other cannabinoids, terpenes, phytonutrients and more than 400 trace compounds. Many of these compounds interact synergistically to create what scientists refer to as an “entourage effect” that magnifies the therapeutic benefits of the plant’s individual components—so that the medicinal impact of the whole plant is greater than the sum of its parts. We believe the inclusion of legally permitted amounts of THC in some of our whole plant based products make them more effective.
